Beseda: Who, What, Where?
Beseda is a Czechoslovak-Australian Association in Canberra, Australia.
Club's main activity is helping Czech and Slovak newcomers to Australia to find a place to live, orient themselves in an new world, look for employment and assist them in their contact with authorities. Beseda also pursues cultural, social and sporting activities in endeavour to revive and maintain the languages, cultural heritage and national traditions from Czech and Slovakia as well as familiarise with the cultural and ethnic heritage of Australia.

Regular events
Club opening hours
every first and third Saturday 2.30-5 pm

Come and join us for a game of table tennis or snooker or just enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. There is a library with a wide selection of Czech, Slovak and English books, videos, CDs and DVDs for adults and children.
Table Tennis Evenings
every Wednesday 6.30 pm

Every Wednesday night we meet for a friendly game of table tennis. All interested welcome.
Besídka
Czech Play Group - once a month

Come along with your kids to sing Czech songs and nursery rhymes, dance, listen to Czech fairy tales and stories and create a little art work.

Picnic to commemorate the 12th aniversary of the opening of our Beseda Club
in conjunction with a performance of our kid's group Besídka. Refreshments will be served.
